My Favorite Bank

This will probably not come as a surprise to many of you because of how much I write about the credit cards this bank issues.

But, after using many different banks over the years, my favorite bank by far has been Chase.

Now, I know there’s not a “one size fits all” bank. For your purposes, your bank might be far better than Chase. But for my purposes, and I think the purposes of most people, Chase Bank is one of the best banks out there.

I know a lot of people will argue for a local bank, and I can understand the reasons, but I think national banks with local branches can accomplish most of the same things, and even more. And, if you think about it, a lot of the local banks end up getting bought out by national brands eventually anyways.

Here are 10 reasons why Chase is my favorite bank:

  1. The Online Interface

Most people these days do a lot of their banking online. They expect their bank to have a decent website. This is often NOT the case with local banks & it can be very frustrating. Chase has a great online interface. One of the best I’ve seen. This is really important to most people, including me.

  1. The App

I’ve used other banking apps and I think Chase is one of the best. Most of what you can do in the Online Interface you can do right from your phone. These days, with how much people like using their phone, many people want a great app that can perform most banking functions. Chase’s app is great for this. You can do mobile deposits of checks, transfer money, send Zelle payments, etc.

  2. Accounting Software Import

If you import your banking data into a budgeting or accounting software, many of you know the difficulty of using a bank that doesn’t sync easily with the software. I found this was often the case with the local banks I used. When you use a bank like Chase, you’ll find it’s usually at the top of the list for integrated banks in most accounting software. This saves a lot of headaches.

  3. Variety of Accounts for Children/Students

Chase has great child & student accounts that allow your child to start banking early while still giving you management access to their accounts. With Chase, both of our daughters have accounts, and I’m able to help them manage them from my bank online profile. I know other banks offer this as well, but the Chase interface makes it really simple to transfer funds to & from children’s accounts and gives them app access to manage their own money as well.

  4. Best Credit Cards

You don’t have to have a Chase checking account to manage your Chase credit cards, but it certainly is great to have them all integrated. Chase has some of the best credit cards out there, and having them seamlessly integrated into the interface with my personal and business accounts is awesome!

  5. Frequent Welcome & Referral Bonuses

Chase offers great incentives. Both for their credit cards & opening up personal & business checking accounts as well. They will frequently run bonuses where you can open an account & earn $200 or even up to $2,000 (I earned this with a business checking account I opened). They often have great referral bonuses if you refer other people to them as well (see below).

  6. Easy to Manage Many Personal & Business Accounts

With Chase, you can combine all of your personal & business accounts together in one profile in their online banking portal, and it’s easy to add additional accounts. I was originally referred to Chase by some colleagues that had similar real estate businesses and raved about how easy it was to manage many accounts on Chase. They, like me, had many different businesses & business accounts in each of those businesses, and Chase doesn’t limit the accounts and makes them a breeze to manage.

  7. Private Client Services

Once you have a significant amount of money invested with Chase, you can benefit from VIP services that they offer. They usually have an exclusive wing of the bank dedicated to the Private Clients and you can see a personal banker quickly. I’ve never had a personal banker as helpful as the Private Client Banker I’ve had at Chase. They also offer 24/7 phone banking for these customers. You also get free checks, wires are free, discounts at local attractions, and more!

  8. High-end ATMs

I’ve used quite a few ATMs but I’ve never seen ATMs quite like the new ones Chase has in their lobbies. There are many features & customizable options on these ATMs. They certainly stand out from the pack.

  9. Account Management through Messaging

Many banking functions you’d need to go into a branch for or make a phone call regarding can be done simply by sending them a message within your Chase portal. This has surprised me. This is a great feature to get things done quickly, like canceling credit cards before their annual fees are due.

I recognize not everyone will have a Chase branch in their area, but if you do, I think it’s a great bank to use for both personal & business banking. And if you decide to sign-up, make sure you look for some kind of welcome bonus where you can make some extra cash for signing up.

**Right now they are running a promotion where you can get $200 for signing up for a new checking account. They also give me $50 for sending you if you use this link. Then you can refer other family/friends as well and make $50/person you refer (up to $500 yearly).
